Urban Upbound Provides Meaningful and Memorable Experiences: “I Suprised Myself”

Ms. Tisha Paige’s journey with Urban Upbound began with a simple visit to our East Harlem location for tax preparation but it quickly turned into a meaningful and memorable experience.

While on-site, Ms. Paige came across a flyer for our International Women’s Day event and decided to attend, not knowing what to expect. What followed was a powerful moment of connection, expression, and joy. Stepping outside of her comfort zone, Ms. Paige shared her talents with the room by reading poetry and delivering a heartfelt rendition of “The Greatest Love of All.”

“I surprised myself,” she shared, reflecting on the experience. “I had such a great time.”

Inspired by the welcoming and supportive environment, Ms. Paige also invited her daughter to join her at Urban Upbound. Her daughter not only attended the event but also took advantage of our free tax preparation services, highlighting how one visit can open the door to resources for the entire family.

Ms. Paige’s story is a reminder that Urban Upbound is more than a place for services, it’s a space where community is built, confidence is discovered, and connections are made.
