I share these words with a heavy heart, having witnessed the ongoing acts of violence against members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.

Our tears have not yet dried up from grieving the loss of Breonna Taylor one year ago this week, and today our community mourns the deaths of the victims of the recent shooting in Atlanta, Georgia. Urban Upbound condemns the increase of these horrendous hate crimes against members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community across the country.

As we work to break cycles of poverty for low-income communities of color, we are committed to leveraging resources and rallying partners to continue advancing equity and justice through the delivery of our services.

In solidarity,
Bishop Mitchell G. Taylor
